NBC Los Angeles photojournalist Kenny Holmes tweeted photos of the 61-year-old actor speaking to firefighters at the scene. Officials said flames broke out around 9:48 p.m. PT in the garage, and the cause of the blaze is being investigated.

Neighbor Andy Stern told KTLA the actor's former house completely burned down several years ago, and Brosnan worked for several more to build the new residence. The house is reportedly valued at upwards of $18 million.

Brosnan starred in four James Bond films, including Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies, and is also known for The Thomas Crown Affair and The Matador. He last appeared with Olga Kurylenko in The November Man, and is scheduled for Survivor with Milla Jovovich.
