North West angers with fur coat during New York Fashion Week

NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- North West was spotted in a huge fur coat Wednesday at New York Fashion Week.

Mother Kim Kardashian dressed the toddler in an all-black outfit paired with a luxurious fur jacket. The 34-year-old reality star and her 1-year-old daughter were spotted as they left Kanye West's show for Adidas.

Uncle Rob Kardashian shared a picture of North's ensemble on Instagram, and captioned the photo, "lil Miss West in the building lol."

North's outfit was not without its detractors, with anti-fur activists at the forefront of the criticism. Kim Kardashian is well known for her fondness for fur, and animal rights group PETA slammed the reality star for choosing the jacket.

"Kids are naturally drawn to animals and sympathetic to their plight, and there's no reason to think that North is any different," U.K. director Mimi Bekhechi said. "If the fur coat that she's been dressed in is real, animals have suffered for vanity, something that we're sure neither North nor any little girl her age would support."

Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West welcomed North in June 2013, and married in May 2014. The reality star was spotted in a crop top earlier this week as she braved the snow in New York, and will return for a 10th season of E! reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians in the spring.
