LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Halle Berry's underware line for Target is washing machine proof.

The 48-year-old actress opened up about the durability of the items from her new lingerie collection in a recent interview with ABC News.

"I think that's what makes a good bra... when you put it in the washing machine it's not going to fall apart," Berry said. "And that all starts with the quality of the materials that you're using and how you put it together."

News that Berry was relaunching French underwear line Scandale broke last October and according to the star, she got the idea to bring quality products to a broader group of consumers while "tooling around" in Paris with her husband Olivier Martinez.

"I'm now married to a Frenchman so I've spent lots of time now in France," she said. "And one of our escapades walking around shopping, I came across this really beautiful, feminine, luxurious lingerie line called Scandale Paris."

Admitting she owns and has been gifted bras that retail for hundreds of dollars, Berry asserted the Scandale Paris bras will be for sale "for 16 bucks and [are] going to last you just as long and be just as beautiful, I guarantee you."

Berry's Scandale Paris collection is currently available at Target and ranges in price from $7 to $18. A new line will be unveiled in the spring.
