Chelsea Handler mocks pregnancy rumors on Instagram

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Chelsea Handler took to Instagram to mock pregnancy rumors Tuesday.

The 39-year-old comedian shared a photo exposing her flat stomach while holding an old portrait of herself. Handler captioned the post, "The last time I was pregnant was in this picture. Wake up, people. I would never do that to a baby."

Handler sparked pregnancy reports after uploading a snapshot of her dog in the passenger seat of her car Monday. She joked, "It's like a 24 hour watch. He must know I'm pregnant," in the caption, causing immediate speculation.

Handler previously said she doesn't want children in an interview with The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet in 2013. She told the host she doesn't have the time for motherhood, and reflected on the difficulties of childhood.

"I don't think I'd be a great mother. I don't want to have a kid and have it raised by a nanny," she related. "Childhood was heartbreaking enough for anybody. I don't know that I could handle my own child, especially if I had a girl, going through what I went through growing up."

Handler came to fame as a comedian, and hosted Chelsea Lately on E! for seven seasons. She brought the late-night talk show to a close in August 2014, and has a new series in development with Netflix for 2016.
