LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Rapper Suge Knight was sent to the hospital with chest pains Tuesday after pleading not guilty to murder charges in a fatal hit-and-run collision.

Knight, whose real name is Marion, was charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly running two men down with a car following an argument Thursday night in Compton. Prosecutors are saying Knight's actions were intentional.

Knight was arraigned Tuesday and was seen in the defendant's box politely answering the judge's questions before pleading not guilty.

After his arraignment, he was transported to the hospital with chest pains.

In 1996, Knight was the driver of the BMW when passenger Tupac Shakur was shot by a gunman.

He was sentenced to nine years in prison for violating probation from an assault case.

In 2008, he was arrested in Las Vegas for drug possession and aggravated assault.

This is Knight's third strike after prior convictions and if convicted he will face life in prison.
