LOS ANGELES, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Marion "Suge" Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, has been charged with murder after a fatal hit-and-run accident in Los Angeles.

Knight, 49, was arrested Friday about nine hours after he allegedly struck two people with his vehicle, killing one and injuring the other.

He was on the set of the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube at the scene, when he reportedly got into a fight with two men.

Terry Carter, a 55-year-old tow truck driver, died.

Knight surrendered to police and his lawyer, James E. Blatt, called the incident a "tragic accident."

He was charged Monday with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run. He was also accused of committing a serious and violent felony while out on bail in another pending case.

Knight was out on $1 million bail for a robbery charge. He, along with comedian Katt Williams, were accused of stealing a camera from a photographer in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Knight was initially held on $2 million bail for the hit-and-run incident, but the bail commissioner revoked bail Monday. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Juanita Navarro told KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, that Knight was considered a flight risk.
