Willow Smith sparks controversy over topless t-shirt photo

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Willow Smith is at the center of yet another photo controversy after a fan shared a picture of the 14-year-old singer posing in a topless t-shirt.

In the snapshot shared by Instagram user willowsmithfan on Wednesday, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's daughter looks right into a camera in a colorful, long-sleeved shirt that features a set of breasts with nipples at the front. While Smith is actually fully dressed in the image, some sites have called it "scandalous," "controversial" and "eye-brow raising."

Perhaps the fuzz is linked to another controversial picture of Smith, in which she appears lying in a bed with Hannah Montana actor Moises Arias, which also made headlines when he shared last May.

Upon learning about the reaction to the photo, Pinkett Smith addressed the controversy and said "there was nothing sexual" about the photo and that the people were "projecting [their] trash onto it."

"You're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool," said the actress.

Smith responded to the new contention surrounding her life by tweeting the image along with a simple message and a shout to the #FreeTheNipple movement on Friday.
