LONDON, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- British actor Tom Felton was heartbroken to find out his real-life self would have been sorted into a different house than his character at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Felton is best known for portraying the role of Draco Malfoy in the eight movie adaptations of the Harry Potter saga. The actor earned the role at the age of 12 and played the Slytherin student for 10 years.

Almost four years after the last Harry Potter film came out, Felton joined series author J.K. Rowling's Pottermore website and found out he actually belongs in Gryffindor, his character's house's ultimate foe. He promptly shared the results on Twitter.

Rowling took to Twitter soon after Felton and revealed she had always known he was a Gryffindor at heart.

In the Harry Potter world, Gryffindor and Slytherin are two of the four houses in which students are sorted at Hogwarts, the other two are Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The book series' title character and his companions were all Gryffindor. Voldemort,

Harry Potter's archenemy, was a Slytherin.
