LONDON, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan, flew to London Wednesday upon learning her daughter was hospitalized from a high fever an unbearable joint pain.

The symptoms have been related to the mosquito-transmitted virus Lindsay Lohan contracted while vacationing in Bora Bora over Christmas break. The actress was released from King Edward VII Hospital Wednesday and was reportedly referred to a specialist after her fever receded.

While the actress has yet to comment on her hospitalization or her mother's trip, she did write a Twitter post about CSV Positive Futures, the youth-volunteer nonprofit she's been working with in London, upon being released from the hospital.

Lohan has been residing in London since 2014 while she starred in a production at London's West End theatre. Last year she announced plans to return to the stage in David Mamet's Oleanna in 2015.
