LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Nicki Minaj addressed the abortion she had as a teen and called it a "terrible mistake" in her new MTV documentary, which aired Sunday.
In My Time Again, the "Anaconda" rapper, 32, revisits the time she had an abortion at 15-years-old and reveals her baby's name would've been Caiah.
"My child with Aaron would've been 16 any minute," Minaj says. "We made a terrible mistake. We had to pay for it. I always felt like my destiny was to be accomplished in my career first."
Minaj goes on to say that motherhood is something she wants, but "won't be doing it right now, that's for sure."
"I think four years from now is the time to have a child, I would have to be married first. I think there is a housewife somewhere in here," she said.
The rapper later admits that she's no longer putting her "career over the ones that I love."
"I don't know if the secret to life is to find love, but I think the secret is to embody love," she said.
Minaj's documentary details the recording of her new album and is a follow up to the singer's 2010 documentary My Time Now, where she documented her rise to fame in the rap world. The 50-minute video is available for streaming on MTV's website.
Minaj's fourth studio album The Pinkprint was released: on Dec. 15.
