Watch 'Price is Right' announcer George Gray wipe out running backwards on treadmill

By Matth Bradwell

HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The Price is Right announcer George Gray stole the spotlight from host Drew Carey and the game show's contestants on Thursday, inadvertently falling off a treadmill while attempting to read the sponsorship drop for one of the episode's Showcase Showdowns.

Gray seemed to be showing off a little, walking backwards on the treadmill and reading from his printed script before the spill occurred. Despite the awkward moment, Gray kept his cool, continuing to read the prize's advertizing copy from the floor beside the treadmill while Carey laughed at Gray's misfortune.

It's not clear if the incident was a genuine accident or Gray intentionally fell to get a laugh. Gray took over for former Price is Right emcee Rich Fields in 2011 because CBS wanted to pair Carey with someone who could serve as an Ed McMahon-style sidekick instead of a traditional announcer.
