LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Michelle Rodriguez approaches relationships as "a lone wolf."

The 36-year-old actress discussed love, children and more with Milla Jovovich for Interview magazine's February issue. Rodriguez told her Resident Evil co-star she would like to eventually be a mother, but admitted it may be hard to provide a father figure.

"I run by myself on most things," she related. "I've got lots of really great friends, but the thought of being in a long-lasting relationships? Psh, I couldn't last more than six months with somebody, let alone have a father figure around for a kid. I mean, if I could give a kid a father figure, that would be amazing."

Rodriguez was linked to model Cara Delevingne and actor Zac Efron in 2014, but both romances fizzled out within a few months. The actress made it clear she values her independence, but also expressed her desire for the bond between parent and child.

"I just want that unconditional love, the kind you get from a family member," she shared. "You might get lucky enough to find that unconditional love in a friend or lover, but it's very rare. So if I ever have a kid, it'd be so that I could look in those eyes and know that this child is a piece of me and will love me the same way I love."

Rodriguez took to Instagram last week to urge her followers to find happiness in 2015. She posted a photo of herself next to a lighted "LOVE" sign, and captioned the picture, "It's gonna be a year to follow your joy what ever it may be Get Some... Have an amazing year."

Rodriguez last portrayed Luz in Robert Rodriguez movie Machete Kills, and will reprise Letty Ortiz for Fast & Furious sequel Furious 7. The new installment marks late actor Paul Walker's final film role, and opens in theaters April 3.
