NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift is known for her interaction with fans, from including them in her music videos to inviting them to her home for listening parties.

In that vein, the 1989 singer surprised one Swift devotee, Tumblr user Rebekah Bortniker, with a $1,989 check to help pay off her student loans.

On Monday, Bortniker posted a video of herself opening a care package from Swift, 25, which included, among other gifts, a handwritten card, a necklace and a $1989 check.

"Now you're $1989 closer to paying your student loans," Bortniker read in a note from Swift, before bursting into tears.
