LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Almost 10 years after the release of the cinematographic adaptation of The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, actress America Ferrara has hinted at a possible sequel to the sequel.

Ferrara, 30, told Us Weekly that a third project was "potentially in the works" when asked if fans should expect a third movie of the famous coming of age adventure.

Ferrera co-starred with Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively in the film and its sequel, as four best friends who plan to stay connected through a pair of jeans. Both films are based in Ann Brashares' novel series of the same name. The first book was adapted into the first film and the second, third and fourth were combined for the sequel, The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pant 2, which was released in 2008.

Ferrera, Tamblyn, Bledel and Lively have remained real-life best friends since meeting on set and often make headlines for their outings together.

Asked about Lively's newborn daughter, Ferrera said she was "very, very happy" for her and her husband Ryan Reynolds.
