LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Tina Fey and Amy Poehler don't want celebrities attending the Golden Globes on Sunday to be afraid of them, but they also don't plan to hold back when it comes to jokes about controversial topics.
Fey discussed her upcoming gig as co-host of the annual awards show with Access Hollywood and responded with a "heck yes" when asked if there could be jokes about Bill Cosby -- the actor has been in the news for the past few months over mounting allegations that he sexually assaulted a number of women decades ago.
"Amy and I have always said that the idea [is] that we don't want anyone attending to be scared to be there because of us," Fey said. "It's a party and it's -- in the grand scheme of the world, it couldn't be less important and I think that's what makes it fun."
Fey and Poehler were chosen to host the award show for the third consecutive time for their hilariously witty commentary, but the comedic duo proved they are not afraid to push the envelope when they joked about event-attendees Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway and Quintin Tarantino at the Golden Globes 2013.
Further, Crushable pointed out in December that Fey previously took a jab at the Cosby controversy in an episode from the third season of her NBC comedy 30 Rock.
Because according to Fey, she and Poehler plan to "write 'til the last second and see what [they] get," there is really no way of knowing which subject will get touched on during the ceremony -- their last time hosting, according to Poehler.
The 72nd annual Golden Globes 2015 will take place on Jan. 11.
