NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- A North American tour of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall's Tony Award-winning production of the musical Cabaret is to kick off in January 2016, the Roundabout Theatre Company announced. The pre-World War II Berlin-set show will visit more than 20 cities in the United States and Canada.
All casting and market information will be announced shortly.
The Broadway revival opened in Spring of 2014 with Alan Cumming reprising his 1998 Tony-winning role as the Emcee. The show continues on Broadway with Cumming and Emma Stone headlining at New York's Studio 54.
