LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- A new still image from director Rodrigo García's film Last Days in the Desert finds Ewan McGregor as Jesus Christ in the desert.
The film is described as being "an imagined chapter from Jesus' 40 days of fasting and praying in the desert. On his way out of the wilderness, Jesus struggles with the Devil over the fate of a family in crisis."
The still finds the 43-year-old actor sporting shoulder length, brown hair and tattered clothes in the desert as he stares off into the distance.
Ciarán Hinds, Ayelet Zurer, Tye Sheridan and Susan Gray also have roles in the upcoming motion picture which is slated for an April 2 release.
McGregor is best known for his roles in Moulin Rouge!, The Impossible, Trainspotting and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and will star in Jane Got a Gun, Miles Ahead, Our Kind of Traitor and Mortdecai in 2015.
