"It could have ended horribly. We were talking about it today, on the way to run errands. I was saying, 'We're really lucky," the actor told Us Weekly at the 6th Annual Night of Generosity Gala in Beverly Hills on Friday.

"He was going 50 miles an hour, and we were going 25 down the street, and we hit head-on," added the Beverly Hills 90210 star. "The inertia of that is is life changing. That's life changing for us."

The actor added that after the collision the airbags went off and everyone was safe. He later got out of the car to "shake hands" with the driver before calling the police. When officials arrived at the scene, the man was taken into custody.

"That being said, he came around the corner very fast," he continued. "Let alone, I've heard, he had a few drinks."

Green and Fox's two children Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 9 months, weren't in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
