Sony hackers threaten workers, families

CULVER CITY, Calif., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- The fallout from the attack on Sony Pictures' computer network continues with hackers now threatening workers and their families.

Sony officials believe the hack attack by the "Guardians of Peace" — which shut down the network and leaked five yet-to-be-released Sony movies online — may be the work of a North Korean crew out for revenge for an upcoming Seth Rogen comedy about a plot to assassinate leader Kim Jong Un.

A statement from North Korea has denied any involvement, calling it "another fabrication targeting the country."

Hackers are also releasing other corporate information, including executive pay and movie budgets.

Now the apparent hackers have emailed threats of violence against employees.

The email, apparently authored by someone who doesn't speak English well, vows to bring about the "collapse" of Sony, adding: "Not only you but your family will be in danger," warning that "one beside you can be our member."

The email begins: "I am the head of GOP who made you worry.

"Removing Sony Pictures on earth is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization. And what we have done so far is only a small part of our further plan. It's your false if you think this crisis will be over after some time."

It's not clear how many workers received the email, but it could be hundreds.
