LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Kirk Cameron's attempts to garner positive reviews for Saving Christmas appear to have backfired, with his film earning the bottom spot on IMDB.

The film starring and produced by the former Growing Pains heartthrob has an average ranking of 1.3 out of 10 stars, taking it to the very bottom of IMDB's rankings and granting it the dubious honor of being No. 1 on the website's "Bottom 100" list.

The No. 2 film on the list, which only categorizes films with at least 1,500 votes, is Birdemic: Shock and Terror, with a comparatively high rating of 1.8 stars.

Cameron had earlier appealed to his social media followers to post positive reviews of the Christian-themed movie to help it obtain a "Fresh" rating on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. The actor's fans briefly helped the movie reach a 94 percent "Fresh" rating before falling to the current "Rotten" rating of 32 percent.

The film, which Cameron said is aimed at "putting Christ back in CHRISTmas," is not without its fans -- fellow Christian celebrities Phil Robertson and Miss Kay of Duck Dynasty recorded a video encouraging fans to go see Saving Christmas.
