LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Ryan Reynolds is ready to welcome his first child with wife Blake Lively.

"I don't have a weak stomach," he shared. "I'm good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews ... I'm just excited about having a buddy. We don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away."

"For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don't want to make," he related. "I'm at that stage still where I'm focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error."

Reynolds and Lively met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, and married in September 2012. The actor is scheduled for a number of projects, including Woman in Gold with Katie Holmes and Helen Mirren, while Lively will next star in The Age of Adaline.
