LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Former child star Amanda Bynes continues to struggle to adapt to a normal life following her release from a psychiatric institution last week and was spotted sleeping in a shopping mall on Thursday.

After TMZ published photos of the starlet dozing of on a couch at the mall, Bynes took to Twitter to explain that her parents have yet to give her any money to find a place to stay.

The former actress went on to say her lawyer is working on having parents removed as her conservators "because they don't deserve control over my money."

The 28-year-old star's comments came a day after her lawyer revealed to Access Hollywood that the actress' conservatorship will soon be split between Bynes' mother, Lyn, and a private fiduciary.

According to E! News, the new conservator will be taking care of Bynes' daily needs in terms of her medical care while her mother will remain in control of her estate.

Bynes' parents filled for a conservatorship last month after the She's The Man actress was placed on a second 5150 psychiatric hold following her being accused of shoplifting in NYC and weeks after she was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles.

Earlier this week Bynes revealed on Twitter she's bipolar and manic depressive.
