Rachel Bilson welcomes first child with Hayden Christensen

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have welcomed their first child together.

Sources told Us Weekly, the Heart of Dixie star named her daughter Briar Rose Christensen, the name the fairies use for Princess Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty tale.

Bilson recently celebrated her daughter-to-be with a baby shower in which she received birth beads that were to be made into a necklace the actress would use "for strength" during labor. Among the guests at the L.A. bash were Natalie Portman and Jamie King.

News of Bilson's pregnancy broke in May, and days later, the actress was seen showcasing her baby bump alongside her fiance during a beach getaway in Barbados.

Bilson and Christensen met on the 2007 set of the film Jumper where they played star-crossed lovers. The couple got engaged in 2008 and separated for three months in 2010 before getting back together.
