Jessica Chastain 'very happy' with Gian Luca Pass de Preposulo

NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Jessica Chastain is happy to be dating Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

The 37-year-old actress opened up about the Italian fashion executive in an interview with the Daily Telegraph published Sunday. Chastain and de Preposulo have been together since June 2012, and the star told the publication she and her beau are glad to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.

"It just puts a magnifying glass on you," she said of her resistance to date a fellow actor. "If you want to be really famous, then date another famous person. But the fame is not the part of my life that I am excited about."

"I think you have to date someone who understands some aspects of the film industry," she conceded. "I mean, I'm going to be in Northern Ireland kissing Colin Farrell, so I have to date a guy who is really confident in himself and isn't insecure about all of that."

Chastain declared herself "very, very happy" with de Preposulo, but declined to provide further details about the fashion executive. The actress' reluctance to discuss her relationship is connected to her greater aversion to fame.

"I'm a shadow whisperer, I hide in the shadows," she shared. "And I tend to avoid places where I might get photographed and end up with my picture in the press. I just don't think of myself as a movie star -- I'm an actress."

Chastain has appeared in such films as The Help, Lawless and Zero Dark Thirty, and is scheduled to star in Interstellar, A Most Violent Year and Crimson Peak.
