LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Christian Bale has reportedly pulled out of the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday that Bale dropped out "after much deliberation and conflicting feelings."

Bale, 40, would have starred opposite Seth Rogen, who will play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay, while Danny Boyle was attached to direct.

Sorkin told Bloomberg TV last month that Bale didn't have to audition for the role.

"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale," Sorkin said. "He didn't have to audition. Well, there was a meeting."
