LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Melissa Rivers has hired NYC firm Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz to investigate the death of her mother Joan Rivers.

According to Page Six, Rivers could file a multimillion dollar suit against the clinic for malpractice.

Earlier this month it was reported that Rivers planned to sue the clinic where doctors reportedly performed an unscheduled biopsy that led to the comedian's death on Sept. 4, days after she was placed in a medically induced coma following a complication during a scheduled procedure to diagnose changes in her voice and acid reflux. A medical examiner report released earlier this month disclosed Rivers died of a "predictable complication of medical therapy."

The new reports come one week after it was revealed Melissa Rivers will inherit over $100 million in cash and assets from her mother.
