PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Troubled starlet Amanda Bynes will reportedly remain on a psychiatric hold for another month following her recent meltdown and involvement in a shoplifting scandal in New York City.

Sources close to the situation told the New York Daily News that doctors treating the former actress have decided to extend her treatment "for another 30 days, minimum."

Bynes was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold earlier this month after being accused of shoplifting in NYC and weeks after she was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles. The hold allowed for the actress to be monitored for the following 72 hours, but after further examination doctors decided to extend it for 14 days.

In the days prior to her hospitalization Bynes, who had been making strides in her recovery since first being placed on a 5150 hold in 2013, was seen exhibiting erratic behavior while shopping in NYC and made false accusations that her father had molested her and implanted a micro chip in her brain.
