NEW YORK, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Amanda Bynes is back in New York City -- for good.

The 28-year-old actress took to her Twitter account Tuesday to clear up rumors and make important announcement regarding her recent trip to the Big Apple.

"Don't believe anything the tabloids are saying about me. They dislike me for some odd reason & they continue to insult me everyday," Bynes wrote early in the morning, adding, "Treat others how you want to be treated. The truth will set you free."

The former Nickelodeon star later revealed she's "transferring to NYU or Columbia from FIDM to study psychology."

"You'll see me in New York if you live here," she continued, "but I HATE stalkers!"

Bynes' messages come days after the starlet was seen biking around NYC and follow her arrest for DUI in Los Angeles last week. Although sources say the former actress looked "normal and stable" while biking around the city, her Twitter posts resemble the messages she used to write before being hospitalized on a 5150 or involuntary psychiatric hold in July of 2013.

Days after her Sep. 29 arrest, rumors surfaced that Bynes was kicked out of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for bad behavior last month. Bynes completed a stint in rehab in December 2013 following months of erratic behavior online and multiple encounters with the law.
