Bryan Singer set to direct his fourth 'X-Men' movie

Bryan Singer will direct the next "X-Men" movie, "X-Men: Apocalypse" scheduled for release in May 2016.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- It's official.

Bryan Singer will be returning to direct X-Men: Apocalypse.

This next installment will be his fourth time sitting in the director's chair in the X-Men franchise.

The movie, which is scheduled to be released in May 2016. It is in the eighth movie in the series.

Singer directed the first two movies and returned for this year's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In August, a man who accused Singer of sexual harassment successfully filed to have the case against him dropped.

X-Men: Apocalypse is expected to start filming next year in Montreal.

The next movie is set 10 years after Days of Future Past and will star Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult.
