CHICAGO, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- John Malkovich stars in a series of new photos based on iconic portraits.

The 60-year-old actor posed as Alfred Hitchcock, Salvador Dali, John Lennon and more for photographer Sandro Miller's "Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters" exhibit at the Catherine Edelman Gallery in Chicago. Malkovich and Miller recreated famous portraits such as Albert Watson's "Alfred Hitchcock with Goose" (1973), Philippe Halsman's "Salvador Dali" (1954) and Annie Leibovitz's "John Lennon and Yoko Ono" (1980).

"John is the most brilliant, prolific person I know," Miller said in a statement. "His genius is unparalleled. I can suggest a mood or an idea and within moments, he literally morphs into the character right in front of my eyes. He is so trusting of my work and our process... I'm truly blessed to have him as my friend and collaborator."
