LONDON, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Benedict Cumberbatch poses as Mr. Darcy in a new photo for charity.
The 38-year-old actor brought the Pride and Prejudice character to life to benefit T.K. Maxx charity Give Up Clothes for Good. The campaign seeks to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research U.K., and has raised nearly $29 million over a ten-year period.
Cumberbatch recreated Colin Firth's iconic lake scene from the BBC's 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Firth portrayed Mr. Darcy in the miniseries, and stripped down and went swimming before he ran into Elizabeth Bennet (Jennifer Ehle). The picture sees Cumberbatch emerge from the lake with his shirt unbuttoned to the waist.
