SYDNEY, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Hilary Duff says there is a chance she and estranged husband Mike Comrie will reconcile.

The 26-year-old actress discussed her relationship with the retired NHL star in an interview with Kyle and Jackie O on 106.5. Duff and Comrie have been married since 2010 and share a son, but separated in January.

"We've uncoupled for now," she confirmed. "If there wasn't a chance for getting back [together], I think we would've filed for divorce ... I just talked to him this morning. We really care a lot about each other."

Comrie is not the only ex in Duff's life; the actress' old beau Aaron Carter made headlines in recent months for declaring his love for the star. The pair dated in the early 2000s and broke up amid rumors Carter cheated, but the singer has declared he will "spend the rest of [his] life" getting Duff back.

"I keep seeing that, that he keeps doing that," Duff told BuzzFeed. "I don't know how I feel. I mean, that was so long ago, and obviously I'm still married, and I have a baby and we kind of just ... don't know each other."

Duff will star alongside Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor on new TV Land series Younger in 2015.
