NEW YORK, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Joan Rivers's daughter Melissa Rivers announced Wednesday that the ailing Fashion Police star has been moved out of the intensive care unit and is currently "resting comfortably."

"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support," Melissa wrote on her website.

The announcement marks Melissa's third update on her mother's heath since Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City Thursday after entering respiratory and cardiac arrest during a scheduled throat surgery.

In previous updates, Melissa told fans that her mother remained on life support, following reports that she'd be disconnected from it, and in another she thanked fans for their support and asked them to keep Rivers in their prayers.

It remains unknown at this point if the 81-year-old comedian has been disconnected from life support.
