LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber has likened his recent fender bender to Princess Diana's fatal car crash.

The 20-year-old singer was driving in Los Angeles on Tuesday when he noticed a paparazzo following in the car behind him. TMZ reports the star slammed on the brakes, causing the photographer to rear-end him. No one was injured in the accident.

An aggrieved Bieber took to Twitter later in the day and compared the incident to the car crash that killed Princess Diana. Princess Diana, boyfriend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul died in a car accident while being chased by paparazzi in 1997.

"There should be laws against what I just experienced," Bieber declared. "We should have learned from the death of Princess Diana..."

Bieber was involved in an altercation with a fan earlier this week, and is being investigated for attempted battery, theft and robbery.
