LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is "happy" that both her and the Oscar-winning actor have found love after their relationship failed.

While speaking to Italian magazine Chi, the actress, who is engaged to orthopedic surgeon Brian Perri, said she is "happy" for Clooney, "but I am thinking only of my happiness."

Both actors are set to marry in Italy in September. Canalis' wedding is scheduled for the 14th.

"I chose the date some time ago and September is the most beautiful time -- for those who do not know Sardinia -- to appreciate it," she told the magazine. "Otherwise I would have had to wait a year."

"I met a 46-year-old man who has never married and does not have children, a rarity," the Italian beauty said of Perri, adding that the ring he gave her, "is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Brian designed it, he put his heart and soul into it."

Canalis and Clooney ended their two-year relationship in 2011.The Monuments Men actor will reportedly marry his British barrister fiancée Amal Alamuddin at his Lake Como home in Laglio, Italy next month.
