LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are reportedly putting an end to their six year marriage.

Sources told TMZ the couple separated in May and has been living apart ever since. The pair has even begun talking to their lawyers and insiders claim the divorce is a "done deal."

The pair's issues reportedly began in March when Cannon was asked to name five celebrities he had slept with during a radio interview with Power 106. At the time, the rapper named Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selita Ebanks and Kim Kardashian, and according to insiders, Carey was particularly upset about the reality star.

Things allegedly escalated in April when Cannon told Howard Stern that Carey refused to have sex with him until the two got married. During the interview, he denied rumors that Carey was upset about him mentioning Kardashian and said the "Buttlerfly" singer did not know who she was.

After sharing several details about the pair's love life, he said Carey "doesn't care when I talk about our sex life because our sex life is amazing."

But apparently, she did.

Sources add that Carey felt abandoned by Cannon because he kept taking gigs that would keep him away form her and the pair's 3-year-old twin children, Monroe and Moroccan Scott, even when they are financially stable. Insiders said Cannon has grown tired of the singer's reactions when he disagrees with her and reportedly feels like she's "impossible" to deal with because she surrounds herself with "yes men."

Carey and Cannon married at her private estate on Windermere Island in The Bahamas in April 2008.
