NEW YORK, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Savannah Guthrie is officially a mom.
The 42-year-old news anchor welcomed her first child with husband Michael Feldman on Wednesday morning. Baby Vale Guthrie Feldman weighed in at 8 lbs. 5 oz., and measured 19.5 inches. Guthrie told her Today co-hosts her newborn daughter "has blue eyes, a little bit of blondish hair and the chubbiest cheeks you've ever seen."
Guthrie's Today co-host Matt Lauer shared Thursday that he was texting with her right before she went into labor. Her hours-long silence prompted Lauer to send a probing text to Guthrie and she responded with a picture of her baby's foot.
The Today co-host seems to be recovering rather quickly as she took to Twitter Thursday to joke about her new alarm mechanism.
My 3am wake up call sounds a lot different now. Sweeter...

Her husband responded to her tweet saying: "but this sound is like music to my ears."
Guthrie and Feldman, a communications consultant, married in March after a 10-month engagement.
