LONDON, July 11 (UPI) -- Gillian Anderson turned heads with her understated look on Thursday.

The 45-year-old actress wore a simple and chic black dress to the premiere of her new movie, Sold, at the London Indian Film Festival. The sophisticated number featured satin detail and exaggerated straps, and Anderson accessorized with a metallic clutch and white, pointed-toe pumps.

Anderson was greeted by a traditional drum performance upon her arrival, and she chatted with some of the musicians before heading into the event. Sold tells the story of a young Nepali girl named Laxmi (Niyar Saikia) who is trafficked from her village to a brothel in India. The former X-Files star will next appear in The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet and Robot Overlords later this year.
