WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., July 8 (UPI) -- Weeks after Melanie Griffith covered her "Antonio" tattoo with makeup for a red carpet appearance, the actress has decided to remove her ink permanently.

Griffith, 56, was recently spotted at a skin clinic in West Hollywood where she presumably sought treatment to erase the name "Antonio" from the heart tattoo on her right arm.
