LOS ANGELES, July 6 (UPI) -- Columbus Short has added a public intoxication charge to his growing list of legal problems.

The former Scandal star was arrested early Saturday morning in Dallas, after an alleged altercation with security at Katy's Ice House bar.

A source told TMZ that the 31-year-old actor was stopped by security when he tried to leave the bar without paying his tab.

Off-duty police officers reportedly tried to break up the fight.

"He was uncooperative with police," an employee told People. "It was a minor issue. He was verbally assaulting the police."

Short, who played Harrison Wright on Scandal, left the series for unspecified reasons last April.

Short was also involved in a bar fight in Los Angeles last March, just a month before his wife, Tanee, hit him with a restraining order, claiming that he threatened to kill her and himself.
