Travel Channel delays Adam Richman show after Instagram posts

The former "Man vs. Food" sparked outrage earlier this month for a series of expletive-laden Instagram posts.

LOS ANGELES, July 1 (UPI) -- The Travel Channel has postponed its July 2 premiere of Adam Richman's new show, Man Finds Food, citing a "scheduling change."

But industry observers believe the decision might have something to do with the former Man vs. Food host's social media controversy earlier this month.

Richman set off a firestorm of criticism when he used the hashtag "#thinspiration," a term often used in pro-anorexia and pro-bulimia communities, to caption a photo featuring his 70-pound weight loss.

He responded with a series of defensive attacks.

"Grab a razor blade and draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you," he told one commenter.

Richman apologized Tuesday for his remarks.

"I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight," Richman told ABC News.
