Rick Ross arrested in North Carolina after performing at SuperJam

A warrant for the rapper's arrest was issued after he failed to appear in court.

GREENSBORO, N.C., June 30 (UPI) -- North Carolina police arrested Rick Ross on Friday night in after he performed at SuperJam in Greensboro.

Police had a warrant for the rapper's arrest after he failed to show up to court for a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. The 38-year-old didn't attend the mandatory hearing for the pot charge, so he was taken to the magistrate's office after the show.

"After he was done performing, we escorted him to the magistrate's office," Greensboro police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen told the News-Record.

Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, posted $1,000 bond and was released.

Police have previously arrested Ross for marijuana in Florida and Louisiana.
