Cam Gigandet disses 'miserable' co-stars on 'The O.C.'

"It was only the third or fourth season," the actor said of his time in the show. "Those kids were [expletive] miserable. They were just—they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young."

NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- Cam Gigandet has no good memories to share from the time he starred in Fox's teen drama The O.C.

The 31-year-old actor opened up about working with the "miserable" cast of the series during an interview for Elle magazine's "Hot Guy/Cold Drink" feature where he said he doesn't keep in touch with either of the series co-stars.

"Actually Ben McKenzie was kind of mean to me. I hadn't done anything at that point and he was a little bit of an ass." Gigandet said. "But I love him. I think he's a great actor and I love Southland."

Asked if he had better memories of his on-screen lover Mischa Barton, the Burlesque actor said he had no "memories of her."

"Mischa? I didn't really...Was she there?" he quipped.

But, the experience wasn't entirely bad either.

"I learned a lot, " he admitted, adding that "the things that I remember now -- none of them are good."

"It was only the third or fourth season," he continued. "Those kids were [expletive] miserable. They were just -- they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young."

The actor added later that he rarely keeps in touch with former co-stars in general, with the exception of Nick Thune, whom he appeared with in Bad Johnson.

"I'm not saying any of them are terrible," he said. "I've loved a lot of them, but I talk to one."
