Lana Del Rey's boyfriend, Barrie-James O'Neill, denies breakup reports

LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Barrie-James O'Neill has denied reports that he and girlfriend Lana Del Rey are broken up.

While speaking to a TMZ photographer at LAX, the former Kassidy frontman said their relationship is "not over" and instructed viewers to not "believe what you read."

Asked about the singer's controversial comments about death, O'Neill explained she simply, "has an album to sell."

"And it's a good album," he added. "Ultraviolence is ultra good"

O'Neill's comments come two days after German news outlet 20 Minuten quoted the "Summertimes Sadness" singer as saying she and O'Neill were "currently not together."

"He is a wonderful person. But there are some things with which he has to deal," the singer allegedly told the publication.

Del Rey and O'Neill began dating in August 2011.
