Hollywood Walk of Fame reveals its honorees for 2015

LOS ANGELES, June 19 (UPI) -- The Hollywood Walk of Fame announced its new honorees on Thursday.

30 figures in the entertainment industry will receive stars in 2015. The Walk of Fame stretches along 17 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles, and is comprised of more than 2,500 stars. The stars recognize achievements in motion pictures, broadcast television, audio recording and music, broadcast radio and theater/live performance.

"We know that the new selections represent the best of the entertainment industry and will be a great addition to the Walk of Fame for both the Hollywood community and fans from around the world who visit Hollywood every year," Walk of Fame selection committee chairwoman Maureen Schultz says.

2015 Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees:

Will Ferrell, Jennifer Garner, Peter Jackson, Eugenio Derbez, Daniel Radcliffe, Paul Rudd and Christoph Waltz will receive stars for their contributions to film.

The Simpsons producer James L. Brooks, producer and director Ken Ehrlich, celebrity chef Bobby Flay, The Good Wife star Julianna Marguiles, Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane, NCIS: Los Angeles star Chris O'Donnell, Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons, Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler, talk show host Kelly Ripa and Modern Family star Sofia Vergara will be recognized for television.

Songwriter and remixer Lukasz 'Dr. Luke' Gottwald, Kool & The Gang, Pitbull, Al Schmitt and Pharrell Williams will be honored for their music.

Kristen Chenoweth, Dick Gregory and Ennio Morricone were selected for their contributions to theater.

Los Angeles radio host Larry Elder will receive a star for his contributions to radio. Peanuts cartoon character Snoopy will also receive a star.

Screenwriter and novelist Raymond Chandler and Batman creator Bob Kane will be honored posthumously.
