MANCHESTER, Tenn., June 15 (UPI) -- Kanye West didn't get the exact reception he was hoping for when he took the stage for his second-ever performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., on Friday.

More than 90,000 people showed up to see the 37-year-old rapper's two-hour set, though his abrupt, mid-song rant prompted audible jeers from the crowd.

"Where the press at?" West said repeatedly. "F*** the press."

"Y'all wrote that sh** in the press," he added. "Is y'all gonna write all these motherf***ers putting their hands up right now ... this is real rock 'n roll."

West's apparently irritation with the "press" might have something to do with his infamously disastrous 2008 set, when the Yeezus rapper took the stage at 4:30 a.m. In a lengthy blog post at the time, West blamed Pearl Jam for running late and festival organizers for failing to prep for his show.

West's new wife, Kim Kardashian, who was on hand for his set, shared photos from backstage at the festival.

"Oh hey 100,000 people! #Bonnaroo," she captioned a photo of herself standing backstage.
