GIG HARBOR, Wash., June 6 (UPI) -- Ailing radio personality Casey Kasem is reportedly alert but in critical condition at a hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington.
A spokesperson for the Gig Harbor facility where Kasem was hospitalized Sunday following a fight between his daughter and his wife told CNN the 82-year-old radio icon was "alert and appears comfortable at this time."
Kasem is reportedly being treated for bed sores and blood pressure issues. Spokesperson Scott Thompson also said that "any further updates on Mr. Kasem's condition will be at the discretion and approval of his children."
A rep for Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem said she and a few other members of their family, including her brother Casey, would be flying to Washington to be with Kasem.
Bebore Kasem's children found him in Washington in May a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered Kasem's wife Jean to reveal the whereabouts of the radio personality to his daughter Kerri and granted the latter temporary conservatorship over her father.
Kerri and her sibling have been feuding with Jean since last year as they claim their stepmother is keeping them from seeing their ailing father. Casey Kasem has been hospitalized with Lewy Body Disease, which features symptoms similar to Parkinson's Disease.
