BONNER SPRINGS, Kan., June 3 (UPI) -- Brad Paisley posted a selfie mocking the notorious Westboro Baptist Church protesters outside the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan., on Sunday.

Members of the late Fred Phelps' confrontational religious group held signs, like "God hates drunks," on the night of Paisley's scheduled performance. Paisley has a song called, "Alcohol."

"Westboro Baptist Selfie!! Or west-Burro(ass) selfie. Hopefully they can hear the show out here. We'll play loud," Paisley captioned the image.

"Crazies for Paisley!" he captioned another photo.

Never a group to shy from publicity, Westboro Baptist Church tweeted a video of Paisley's visit.

"He mighta been mocking but he was certainly polite!" they wrote.

Country singer Vince Gill, who was performing in Bonner Springs last year, visited the protesters to "see what hate looked like."

"[Jesus] also said a lot of stuff about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that," Gill told them.
