NEW ORLEANS, June 2 (UPI) -- Emilia Clarke appears holding a gun in blue scrubs in newly released pictures from the upcoming film, Terminator: Genesis.
Clarke, 26, will play Sarah Connor in the next installment of the Terminator saga. The Game of Thrones star, who usually appears on screen with blonde hair for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO hit series, sports her naturally dark tresses in the still images from the film.
Jason Clarke, 44 -- Clarke's half-robot son in the movie -- and Arnold Schwarzenegger are also featured in the photos, which were taken Wednesday on the film's New Orleans set.

— comiczeroes (@comiczeroes) May 30, 2014While the plot for Genesis has yet to be revealed, the age difference between Clarke and the man who plays her son suggests that there might be an element of time travel in the film.
Clarke opened out about her preparation for the role during an interview for the March issue of In Style UK magazine.
"I've been spending all day every day, in weapons training. I've been shooting guns, weightlifting, kickboxing and generally kicking a lot of ass," she said at the time. "On top of that, I have not been allowed to eat anything that might taste good at all."
Terminator: Genesis is due in theaters on July 1, 2015.
