FAYETTEVILLE, Pa., May 29 (UPI) -- Actress Melissa Gilbert -- best known for her role as Laura in Little House on the Prairie -- is hitting the stage with a production of Steel Magnolias.
Gilbert is playing the role of M'Lynn, made famous by Sally Field in the 1989 film of the same name.
The comedy, written by Robert Harling, is being performed at the Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville, Pa., and opens Friday.
The play runs through June 15.
